Online Tezhip Workshop with Şeyma Çınar
In the 1st year's 1st level we will process Leaf and Flower drawings. In the 2nd level we will do Tahrir Contouring work with ink and paintbrush in the following months, then we will move on to learn painting/colouring works. After that we will start studying styles of Classical Tezhip and Şikaf. During 3rd level, we will continue with the design work. We will learn to construct designs based on Şemse forms and will diversify them further. We will work on flower designs in asymmetrical Shamsa shapes in 1/2, 1/4 and circular shaped Shamsa shapes, and we will continue design construction lessons with Rumi style drawings. We will complete the design studies of Rumi style in plain Rumi style closed forms and Shamsa forms. We will complete our 7.5 months long education with lessons on Muraqqa paper making and central calligraphy piece gluing.
We will continue the 2nd year's 1st level with the students who have completed the 1st year. In the 2nd level of the 2nd year, we will work on drawing Zencerek and Şikaf styled designs around the calligraphy. We will then continue with painting exercises and Flower Tarama (brushing strokes for shading) lessons. During the 2nd level lessons In the following months, we will cover the interlaced Rumi and Cloud drawings, and we will process videos on design and painting works applied in classical Tezhip. During the 3rd level lessons we will be completing our education with lessons in which there are design and painting stages around central calligraphy using Hurde Rumi drawings and paintings.
Online Tezhip (Illumination) Workshop consists of 6 levels of training. Each level represents 10 weeks. The educational content in levels progresses as a continuation of each other and education starts from the first level. For this reason, registration of beginners is not possible after the end of the first course until the beginning of the new 1st level.
In online lessons, we will be using the pre-recorded video lessons we have prepared in advance. We will be asking our students attending online classes to watch the video lessons shared with them as weekly lesson assignments and to share with us photos of their work and homework in the WhatsApp group chat for the evaluation of their work during live online class. We will continue our lessons with new homework assignments and video recordings every week.

Seyma Cinar
She was born in 1976 in İstanbul. She started her education at Sema Nakışhanesi by taking lessons from Semih İrteş and Mamure Oz in 1998-2000. She graduated Turkish Decorative Arts Illumination Course from the Turkish Ministry of Culture in 2001. In 2004, She took flower painting and miniature lessons from Orhan Dagli at Turkish Islamic Arts Library. She started to give illumination lessons in her own art studio. She started to take miniature design lessons from Reza Hemmatirad at Istanbul Design Centre. In 2010 The Artist received Traditional Turkish Handicrafts Certification and Artisit Identity Card from Ministry of Culture and Tourism. In 2011, She was in the founding of SANKAD (Artist Women’s Platform) at the same time she was board member and general secretary of this platform. She organized many exhibition organizations within the scope of Exhibition and Project Coordination since 2004. She taught illumination at Uskudar Youth Centre in 2014-2017. She started to give illumination lessons at Istanbul Design Centre in 2017. Her works has been exhibited in three personal and 50 group exhibitions. Her works have been published in many magazines and books. She has many illustration, illumination on wood, tile, Edirnekari and ceramic designs.The artist has many works in private and official collections. She still gives lectures on illumination at her own art studio and Istanbul Design Centre.
